Sadly, Lake Hillier received about 200 mm of rain 11 months ago which flooded the lake with soil from the surrounding island. This has turned the lake a brown colour. Unfortunately, for this reason we have no trip there planned at the moment. Experts believe it will probably be 12-24 months before it returns pink again.

Middle Island is located 70 nautical miles from Esperance and features beautifully clear turquoise waters and an incredibly pink lake named Lake Hillier.
Esperance Diving & Fishing and Esperance Island Cruises have extensive experience with Middle Island. Having organised trips for corporate companies such as Red Bull, Billabong and media companies promoting drone footage.
We have also taken countless private groups down to view the island. Working with the Department of Parks and Wildlife to preserve and respect the islands history.

The vessel will depart from the Duke of Orleans at 7.00am. We ask all passengers to meet there at 6.30am.
The Duke of Orleans is 100 kms East of Esperance. Passengers will need to drive their own vehicles to this location. Esperance Island Cruises will provide a detailed map of where the collection point is upon the trip being confirmed. Once all passengers are on board and after a safety briefing has been completed we will commence the 2hr cruise toward Middle Island on our 60ft vessel the Southern Conquest. Tea and coffee will be available on the way down. On arrival at Middle Island bay you will be transferred to the beach by a smaller tender boat. Once all passengers are on the island a tour leader will take you to view up close and personal the world famous pink lake (Lake Hillier). Passengers will also have the opportunity to view the early settler’s ruins and Australia’s only recorded pirate Black Jack Anderson’s camp ground.
After approximately 1.5 hours on the island we will begin ferrying everyone back to our vessel where salad rolls will be provided for lunch.
The vessel will then cruise the 2hr hour journey to the Duke of Orleans Bay to commence disembarking passengers by 3.30pm
